Round Two Kit – Southwestern Venture
I’ve just now finished my Round 2 kit for the Designer Darling contest. I did a southwestern theme … been wanting to do one of those for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to do one. I gave it the name Southwestern Venture since the inspiration was based on Deanna’s (Flower Scrap’s) trip to the Scrapbooking Expo last fall.
Like the last one, for the first week you have to download it from my forum post – http://bit.ly/12ADNXO. Also, it turns out this is partially a “voting” contest. If you have the inclination to sign up for their forum and vote for me I would be ecstatic. My preview for the kit is below and I would LOVE to hear what you think about it.
And, while I did so a partial layout with this kit, it’s nothing I want to show off just yet. HOWEVER, I have a freebie for you that you can download by clicking on the preview below.
I realize not everybody likes to work with BOLD papers, so I made some simpler, solid ones. I also plan on making some borders to go with the kit, so be sure to check back tomorrow for those.

Thank you – thank you! I have been looking for a kit to scrap photos from our trips to the beautiful Southwest. Since retiring in 2008, we’ve driven cross-country twice a year and always spend at least 7-10 days in this area. Thank you and good luck.

Hi, Jill – The Southwestern kit you made for Round 2 is gorgeous. The colors are spot on, and your renditions of Kokopelli and the gecko are great. When I looked at the layout you created with the kit, I was struck by how well the frame complements your photo, almost as though the two joined together to become one beautiful jewel.
As luck would have it, my telephone and internet service both went down last Thursday in the wee hours of the morning and was not restored until late Tuesday afternoon, so I missed the opportunity of downloading your submission. Do you have a store where you will post this kit for sale? I have a series of photos I took while visiting the Saguaro National Park in 1991, and your kit (and the delightful addon, borders, and papers I downloaded tonight) would be perfect.

The link didn’t work before because I wasn’t logged into your blog. Wow! Great way to protect your work as well as isolate offenders! Thank you for the super freebies … not just the Southwestern kit, but also the one you named “Here Comes the Sun.” I keep thinking of the refrain from the song by the Beatles:

Love Love Love this and all the additions! I am a native Texan and have lived in AZ and NM and have plenty of photos that would look great in LO using this kit. Muchos gracias.
I would really like this kit but I’ve never been able to get it to download! What’s the secret? Have the side bits but really want those elements. Help?

I’ve fixed it so that all you need to do is be logged in … the just click on the top preview to download it.
