New Filter, Tutorial & Freebie
One of the things that’s been keeping me busy lately is my work with Filter Forge filters. There is SO much to learn and a lot of learning comes from playing with all the components to see what you come up with. I’ve also ventured in to the realm of Surface filters which has it’s own gotcha’s one must deal with. My first surface filter is called Have You Lost Your Marbles?
I’ve always wanted to create a “bead” generator and this was my first stab at doing so. While this was a great learning experience for filter generation, it also gave me a chance to learn more about using Filter Forge in general … especially using the additional controls that come built-in with Surface filters.

I must be on a roll. I just got another one of my filters accepted. It’s called AbstractMe and it will take your photos or images and turn them into abstract works of art. It’s even perfect for those pictures you have NO idea what to do with and definitely don’t want to use them on a scrap page. Check out some of the results I got with this filter …
Enough play for today … must get back down to business.

I am overwhelmed by the response to my scrapbook freebie. Add to that the great response to my question about the software you use for scrapbooking layouts and I’m floating on cloud 9 (or 10 or 11 or ….). I am truly overwhelmed and appreciative and I can’t begin to that you enough.
I also wanted to let you all know I’m still alive. I’ve just managed to get side-tracked with a bathroom remodel, holidays (for which I am even further behind) and Filter Forge. Speaking of Filter Forge, I just got my 3rd filter accepted and I’m just giddy about it. It’s called StainedGlassPane and was something I was “challenged” to try to make by our friend Karen at SnickerdoodleDesigns. Just check out these previews –

If you aren’t familiar with Filter Forge, check out their website (btw — they are having an unbelievable sale on their software right now). In addition to this filter being accepted, I was also notified that my first 2 filters reached a “high usage” ranking — truly knocked my hand-knitted socks off.
