Christmas Korkers

Posted by on Dec 1, 2016 in Commercial Use, Scrapbooking | 0 comments

I was finally starting to get into the Christmas spirit … that was until I started working on these korkers. Don’t get me wrong, I love how they came out. Unfortunately, my patience (due to the extraction process) AND my fingers (from needle pricks) hate them. Hopefully, your patience and fingers will love me for finding a way to prevent you from having to do the same thing.

These korkers are on sale for 40% off. Yes, that’s more than I typically do for a new release, but theStudio is having a Christmas sale and I wanted these to be a part of it. I also am having the same sale in my personal store.

While these korkers are o.k. for commercial use, they would also be a cute addition to your personal stash.

Breath of Autumn

Posted by on Nov 16, 2016 in Freebies, Personal Use, Scrapbooking | 1 comment

Remember the papers and elements that I did for theStudio’s Next Designers Competition? Well, I couldn’t stop designing and it turned into a collection. However, I did do something a bit different this time. Since I knew some folks had been able to download the initial pieces for free, I decided to combine those pieces and call them Mini Kit 1 and created a second mini that I called Mini Kit 2. Then I went on to round things out with borders, clusters, masks, stamps and words. You can find everything at theStudio and my personal store Jilbert’s Bits of Bytes for 30% off (bundle is 60% off) thru November 26th.

Here’s a look at everything … and be sure to hang around for your freebie.

Annual Next Designer Competition 2016

Posted by on Oct 14, 2016 in Competitions, Freebies, Personal Use, Scrapbooking | 12 comments

Every year, theStudio has an Annual Next Designer Competition. In 2012, not knowing any better, I entered it and, while I didn’t win, it was the start of a new career for me. In years since, I’ve tried my best to “play along” … and this year is no exception even though I really didn’t have the time (busy schedule, as in wedding, and I have a cold *whine*).

The first week’s challenge was designing a pack of papers and this week’s challenge was to design some elements to go along with them. You need to go to my gallery pages at theStudio to download them (just click on the previews below) and, while you’re there, take a look at all the wonderful entries that you can download for free through the end of the month. BUT, before you go, be sure to read to the end of my post for the conclusion of this story and a freebie.

Yesterday, I showed off my newest collection City by the Bay. However, I’ve often been told that seeing how one would scrap with it is SO much better than just seeing previews. So here’s some inspiration for you from my amazing team.

City by the Bay

Posted by on Sep 10, 2016 in Freebies, Personal Use, Scrapbooking | 0 comments

Have you ever gotten a song in your head that you can’t get rid of? Guess what song was in my head — Lights by Journey. Since I was trying to come up with an idea for a new collection, I decided to take advantage of the situation. Thus, City by the Bay was born.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and I still live here. I spent a ton of time in the city as a teenager and young adult, but for some reason, when the kids came along, it sort of lost its luster. When the kids grew up and moved away, they would come home and insist on playing tourist … guess who the tour guides were.

Where am I going with this? Playing tour guide reminded me the beauty and charm of San Francisco that I had forgotten about … and I wanted to share it with you. Hopefully I’ve hit all the spots you’ve been wanting to visit, but if you’ve never visited, City by the Bay will work for other cities as well. You can get this collection at both theStudio and Jilbert’s Bits of Bytes for 30% off thru September 17th. Come, take a look at all the goodies and be sure to read ALL the way to the end so you can download your freebie.

Lakeside

Posted by on Aug 13, 2016 in Blog, Freebies, Personal Use, Scrapbooking | 0 comments

It’s been a while, but after taking most of July off, I’m finally getting back into the swing of things … as in having a brand new collection called Lakeside.

I’m lucky … I live about 30 minutes from the beach (not that I would swim at that beach). For those that know how much I love Hawaii, you might be surprised to find out that I don’t go there for the beaches. Yes, the beaches are gorgeous, but I love the rain forests and other inland stuff. When I go to the beach, I get sunburned (even when using sunscreen). I prefer to get my beach fix by sitting by the side of a lake, in the shade. I might even get in some hiking (if there’s enough shade along the path). This sort of thing was my inspiration for Lakeside. While it’s perfect for camping kinds of themes, my team found it worked great for just about any vacation kind of layout. But don’t take my word for it, judge for yourself.

Lakeside is available at both theStudio and Jilbert’s Bits of Bytes for 30% off through 8/20th but, if you buy the entire collection, it’s 60% off. Here’s a look at it …

Note About My Gesso Products

Posted by on Aug 10, 2016 in Commercial Use, Scrapbooking | 4 comments

I wanted to let you all know that I’ve decided to confuse you when it comes to my Gesso products. When I first started making the overlays, I had NO idea how popular they would become. I also didn’t know which format (transparent or textured) was the best. I started with 2 overlays and saved them as both PNG and JPG. That became my Vol. 1 bundle. I did the same thing for 2 more overlays. That meant I had Gesso 1, 2, 3, and 4 transparent/texture overlays. Bear with me … I’m getting there.

After the first 2 bundles, I decided to only do the PNG format (it seemed to be the more popular one). Unfortunately, when I went to number the next 2 packs, I called them 3 and 4. Don’t know what I was thinking, but that’s what I did (I claim a senior moment). I did 2 more packs with the numbers 5 and 6 … and that’s when I realized I had duplicated 2 version numbers. Having no idea what to do, because I didn’t want to confuse my wonderful customers, I just ignored the problem … for a while.

Those who know me well, know that I’m overly picky about how I name and version my stuff. Ignoring the problem wasn’t going to work … it kept eating at me. SO … I finally bit the bullet and decided to fix things. Since the last 4 versions (3, 4, 5, 6) were actually pieces of gesso done large enough to fill an entire page, I decided to call them “Gesso Bits” … which mean redoing the previews and renumber stuff. Long story short, this is how things got renamed —

Gesso 3 (the second one) -> Gesso Bits 3
Gesso 4 (the second one) -> Gesso Bits 4
Gesso 5 (the original one) -> Gesso Bits 2
Gesso 6 (the original one) -> Gesso Bits 1
Gesso 7 (the grab bag one) -> Gesso 5

I’m MUCH happier now and I’m really sorry if I’ve confused any of you or muddled up your filing system. I’ll try to behave myself in the future.

HUGS!!!

Southwestern Venture

Posted by on Jun 6, 2016 in Freebies, Personal Use, Scrapbooking | 1 comment

I had someone run across a very old post on this blog that was about a mini kit I had done for a designer competition YEARS ago called Southwestern Venture. She wanted to buy it … I wasn’t so sure it was ready for prime time and I was right. However, once I started going through things, I began coming up with tons of ideas that I could use to turn it into a full size collection. You see, I used to spend a lot of time in New Mexico (Albuquerque in particular) because of my previous job, so the ideas were definitely there. Also, having someone on my team who lives in New Mexico made me confident enough to give myself the go-ahead to start working on it.

Well now it’s ready for prime time and is available in my shops at theStudio and Jilbert’s Bits of Bytes for 30% off. Here a look at it —
